1) The Diagnostic Phase

The initial step in creating an effective data recovery solution for your unique circumstance begins with running diagnostics on your media. This step typically takes 2 to 4 days. At this time, we address two points: firstly, does the media have mechanical problems or mechanical failure, or does the filing system present logical problems, and secondly, what data can be recovered. During this phase we:

duplicate your media so as to prevent further data loss or damage
carry out a comprehensive analysis to determine precisely what data is recoverable
compile a comprehensive list for you detailing exactly what data is recoverable

The diagnostic phase is intended to enable the customer to make a sound decision about whether data recovery services are worth it. We believe that no customer should pay for the recovery of data they deem non critical or not worth the expense of recovery. The creation of a comprehensive list of what data is recoverable enables the customer to make a decision about the recovery phase. Our philosophy is truly unique in the industry, as we strongly believe that a customer should understand exactly what data is recoverable BEFORE they commit to recovery services. As well, the customer will know exactly when they can expect completion of their data recovery.

2) The Recovery Phase

The second phase is that of actual data recovery and usually takes between 1 to 3 days. During this phase our engineers carry out professional recovery services on your media, recovering all data contained in the detailed list supplied to the customer during the diagnostic phase. In the recovery phase, we:

complete an extraction of your data from your media
organize all data recovered into a comprehensive directory structure format
copy all data recovered onto a CD or DVD, which is then returned to you within the timeframe set out in the diagnostic phase

Hard Disk Drive Recovery

Recovery from a drive that can not power up can only be performed by a trained recovery engineer.
