A
partition is a sub-division of the capacity of your hard drive, similar to
the way a filing cabinet has different drawers (partitions) within it. How
you organize the data in those different areas is up to you. Having your
drive split into at least 2 partitions is critical in the event of an
operating system failure. Why is this the case? Because all your data files will be on the
other partition than your operating system. You do this so that you
can reformat the OS partition (C:) in the event of a crash and all your
data on d:, or whatever you call the partition,
will be safe and sound after you do an OS reinstall. Partitioning also
offers you a better way to keep your data organized. Click here for partition recovery software or fill out our quick information request form and we will contact you.
